Why Low GI Bread Is Becoming A Healthy Favourite!

1 September 2018

Diabetes is on the rise! There are now four times as many people in the world living with it today than in 1980 and poor diet and a lack of exercise are to be blame, according to a report by the World Health Organisation (WHO)!

The WHO estimates that 12.7% of African children will be overweight or obese by 2020, com-pared with 8.5% in 2010. Despite our challenges, there is good news! People are more concerned about their health and they are willing to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Consumers now want to know all the ingredients in their food and how they are sourced, handled and prepared.

Nowadays, people are eating food with a different mindset. They are demanding companies feed them the healthier alternative and we believe they should. At Baker’s Inn, we continue to chal-lenge the status quo and we want to be part of the solution: that is why we have the Low GI seed loaf. Our loaf is the perfect, nutritious weapon to curb the rise of diet-related conditions in Zim-babwe.

Baker’s Inn Low GI bread is the healthy choice for your family! It causes a steady rise in the level of glucose in the blood, which in turn leads to a small and gentle rise in insulin. These small in-creases in insulin keep you feeling fuller and energised for hours after eating, whether it is sus-tained energy for your busy days at work or for the kids schooling activities, Low GI has the whole family covered.

Low GI bread is also hailed for its fibre content. The fibre helps stimulate bowel function, prevent constipation and lower cholesterol levels. It also reduces your risk of developing haemorrhoids and small pouches in your colon (diverticular disease). These health benefits mean you and your family are not only energised but are also in good health.

Our Low GI bread is keeping Zimbabweans feeling fuller for longer, helping families tackle weight issues and manage diabetes. It also reduces the risk of heart disease by improving your blood sugar and insulin control. Enjoy these amazing benefits and try out our Low GI bread and get inspired by our nutritious recipes here.

its very interesting to know that the GI loaf causes a steady rise in the level of glucose in the blood & makes you feel fuller & leads to a small and gentle rise in insulin, i had no idea that there could be so much science involved in a loaf of bakers inn bread & in making it & i think in africa we need more education in terms of our diet & health coz 12.7% is a very big number & its actualy increasing by the year & obesity brings its own health problems ,thumbs up to you for making moves on health issues.
