Pan-Toasted Ham & Tomato Sandwich

Ham and tomato sandwiches have been around for years! How about adding some cucumber, lettuce to your sandwich? For variation you can toast your Baker’s Inn bread for that perfect, great tasting sandwich. You can also use ox tongue in place of the ham.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices Baker’s Inn White/whole grain bread
  • Margarine/Butter to spread
  • Slices of Ham / Ox tongue
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • ½ medium cucumber, sliced
  • Handful lettuce leaves
  • Mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

 

1.    Get your ingredients together. Spread butter or margarine on your bread slices.
2.    Preheat your pan. Place a slice of bread with the buttered side facing down. Toast until golden brown and remove from heat. Repeat process with all bread slices.
3.    With toasted side facing down, spread some mayonnaise on the bread. Add the lettuce, place the ham and cucumber. Sprinkle some salt and pepper to taste.
4.    Spread a little bit more of the mayonnaise. Close the sandwich with another slice with the toasted side facing up. Repeat process with the rest of the sandwiches. Enjoy!
