Mashed Potato Balls

These mashed potato balls are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are best served straight from the pan!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg potatoes, mashed
  • 250 g Baker's Inn Homemade bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 tbsp. oil

Method

  1. Get your ingredients together.
  2. Add the garlic, cheese and 2 handfuls of the breadcrumbs to the mashed potatoes.  Taste for seasoning and adjust accordingly.
  3. Spoon 1 tbsp. of the mashed potato mixture and roll it into a ball. Place on platter and repeat process until the mashed potato mixture is finished.
  4. Refrigerate for 10 minutes, this is to allow the potatoes to firm up and for the flavours to mingle.
  5. Place remaining breadcrumbs in a flat wide plate. Roll the mashed potato balls into the breadcrumbs, ensuring that they are evenly and well coated.
  6. Heat oil in pan, fry the mashed potato balls until golden brown and crisp. Enjoy!
